ArtsVoice is an active, missional journey experiencing the way that art can be used as a tool to heal and relate. The process is an experiential form of liturgical art teaching and enriching the heart and mind. The process is rooted in the hopeful promises we have been given in Jesus and lead by the call move and serve where he has given gifts and understanding.
These art classes have taken place is prison, homeless shelters, elementary school classrooms and with people who have developmental disabilities. We strive to find meaning and understand alongside the unavoidable voice that speaks tandomly in artistic expression.
This time can be what one desires to make of it. The art is often therapeutic, relaxing, frustrating and rewarding. The artist can face challenges which activates problem solving skills formed in an environment where success can be achieved. The leaders affirm and guide the creators through the experience with encouragement and gentle direction.
The process is lead by Jackie Nuxoll, a Denver photographer with studies in Studio Art and Psychology. To learn more about the process and our understanding of it, visit our blog.
